Inbound Marketing Strategies

In writing this blog for the past 8 months I have made many interesting discoveries which have led me to so many amazing articles from talented authors across the world.

Inbound marketing was one such discovery; keep in mind my background is not in marketing so everything I know and learned is by reading.

As an entrepreneur myself I am always looking at new and inventive ways to gain a following on social mediamarket like a professional, network with other influencers in my niche and leverage the power of social media all in an attempt to attract a loyal following around my brand.

How exactly do I do this?

Inbound marketing has always been my main marketing strategy.

Simply put, inbound marketing is making use of valuable content that will intuitively capture the attention of your target audience.

Unlike other traditional methods of marketing such as billboards or radio where the business actively seeks the attention of their customer through persuasive techniques.

Inbound marketing takes a more subtle approach by offering the customer something of value which in this case could be content that inspires, educates or motivates and in return they reciprocate by buying your product or service.

I think I have mentioned this before in my previous articles, human beings are naturally hard wired to respond to generosity. It’s a psychological trick that has been used for centuries.

If you continuously add value to your customer they will feel an obligation to buy your product or service when you finally offer it to them.

Over time you will develop a relationship with your customer to the point where they feel they can trust you and your brand. This automatically translates into increased conversions and sales for your business.

Transparency is crucial for this to work, people are smarter than you think, and if a customer gets a sense that you are hiding something from them chances are high that they will not be buying anything from you.

Be clear on the message that you want to convey to your audience, you can do this by creating your business’ buyer personas.

Personas will help you discover who your audience is, what they do, where they operate from, how they conduct their day to day lives.

This gives you a clear insight to which audience your message is intended to reach and how best they can benefit from it.

So how can you make the most of inbound marketing to grow your business?

# 1 Invest In Your Website

This is where it all starts, with your website.

All your marketing efforts will revolve around your website this is where you will direct all your potential leads.

Equip yourself with the knowledge and skills on the essential building blocks of having a great looking website.

Design a landing page on your site with a clear call to action to capture customer emails or phone numbers of all potential leads once they land on your website.

Make sure your pages are easy to navigate and have a clean consistent design throughout your website.

Use images that will make your audience trust you a good example is putting a picture of a smiling woman on your landing page creates a sense of trust amongst your audience, it’s a little trick web designers use to drive traffic and trust me it works!


# 2 Start Blogging

Blogging is one of the best ways (if not the best) to drive traffic to your website.

This is also called content marketing it’s also a search marketing technique helping you rank higher in search engines.

Companies that have a blog on their website are 55% more likely to get more traffic to their website.

Think carefully about your message and who you intend to distribute it to.

If you help solve your audience’s problems through your content they will eventually actively seek you out as an authority or a wisdom source because you are adding value.

Blogs also help you with your search engine optimization strategy helping you rank higher on search engines for certain Keywords.

This helps increase organic traffic to your website from different sources and helps your business rank higher for local search within your niche.

Ultimately content is the holy grail of your entire inbound marketing strategy.

Quick Tip: If you can’t write to save your life hire writers who will blog on your behalf there is nothing wrong with getting a little help you certainly won’t be the first.

# 3 Promote with Social Media

If you follow my blog and my posts then you know that social media is has become my most favorite topic recently.

It’s by far the fastest and most effective way to promote and publish your content while engaging with your audience.

Social media is also an inexpensive way to get your message to the world and get noticed.

Once you get the right people following your brand on social you need to convert those leads into actual sales.

This is where your website comes in handy, you will need to direct all potential quality leads to a page that they can buy your product or service or learn more about what you offer.

Think of social media as an awareness platform to get you brand noticed and add relevant, quality leads into your sales funnel.

# 4 Convert leads into sales

So once people have found you on social media and they land on your website what next?

ou will next to convert them into actual buyers of your product or service.

One of the best ways to do this is by capturing their emails on your landing page(s).

In online marketing, a landing page is simply a page on your website that is designed to capture the emails or phone numbers of your potential customer in exchange they get a freebie such as an ebook, voucher, whitepaper etc.

Once you have captured their email you will then send email marketing messages to them with an aim of converting an actual sale.

Be careful not to oversell otherwise you run the risk of being flagged as spammy and your customer end up unsubscribing from your list.

I am not an expert at email marketing.

I am not ashamed to admit this is an area I struggle with in my business, but it has been proven that email marketing is one of the most effective ways to make money online. Invest in a good
